Seeing as I'm halfway through my Student Exchange Program here at Oulu, I figured that it's time for me to write about  my life here other than the travelling.
Well generally I have PLENTY of time here, LOTS OF LOTS OF TIME, be it me time, play time, sleep time, JUST PLENTY OF IT.
This is something I can't get enough back in SG :(

01 Learning to cook
I'm proud to say I've transformed from the lazy bum who only knows how to cook instant noodles perfectly to someone who can whip up a delicious meal within an hour ;)
Hearty dinner of about 3 to 4 days worth

Did i mention how much i LOVE PANCAKES? I've been experimenting with pancakes and this is cheese pancakes with lingonberry jam, cheese sausage and caramelised apples :)
BAK KUT TEH!!! :D

POACHED EGG ;)
Honestly, being a food lover, cooking should be something I would pick up in a matter of time just that in Singapore I didn't exactly have the luxury of time to slowly experiment and cook my meals.
Furthermore, there's always the convenience of eateries located within 5min walk from my house and of course there is my mom who cooks really well ;)

OMG I MISS SG FOOD :(

Anyway, like i was saying, over here i have all the time in the world to slowly cook my breakfast lunch dinner and slowly shop for groceries in the supermarket. Back in SG, all i eat for breakfast is bread and it's on the go (yes, while walking to the bustop) because I'm always gonna have to rush for the bus after snoozing the alarm too many times which is because of the lack of sleep which is because of the endless pile of school work which is because of the crazy hectic life........
it's a vicious cycle.

02 Hone my photoshop skills
I've always wanted to brush up on my skills in this department but I never really had the time to do so back in SG. (wth was i doing in sg?? WHY SO LITTLE TIME??)
Background Gaussian Blur

Lomo

Vintage Lomo

These are just a few of my newly acquired photoshop skills ;)
it's so fun to experiment with photoshop!! It really does wonders, never believe what you see online :P

03 All the time in the world to SLEEEEEEEP!
Having incurred so much sleep debt over the past decades, it seems totally impossible to repay them.
I mean, just look at my eye bags!!
Back in sg I barely have 5hours of sleep everyday :(
Overhere i rarely sleep less than 8hrs and I dont even use the alarm clock ;)
The best feeling in the world is to be able to wake up whenever you feel like and sleep whenever you want to.

04 TRAVELLING!!!
I LOVE TRAVELLING :D
It's so totally awesome that I get 6months off to travel and immerse in the culture and history of europe ;)
One would possibly not have a 6months off anytime in life unless you get fired or you're a retiree.

05 Me time
This is something that I never get when I'm back in SG. It's like I was always either out with friends, in school, teaching tuition or sleeping.
There wasn't even time for myself :(
I used to think that being alone is a sign of loneliness and it's just a loser-ish behaviour but right now I think it is essential to maintain a healthy state of mind.
One needs to have some time alone to reflect about his or her life, to grow as a person.
Back in sg, eating alone would seem really weird but right here, a lot of people do it.

06 Meeting new people
Specifically, people from all over the world!!
A myriad of ideas and culture being exchanged all the time just leaves you yearning for more. I really think that going on exchange is the best time to make new friends :) It is interesting how people from other parts of the world lead their lives.

07 Experiencing Winter ;)
THERE IS SO MUCH SNOW HERE.
Having lived in SG all my life, I have never seen REAL snow (those at snowcity don't count). I mean, I have been out of the country, even to places with 4 seasons but I have been to anywhere during winter. (which actually makes sense because in winter travelling is pretty much limited to just skiing :P)

I think i have seen enough snow the past few months to last a lifetime :)

08 Watching dramas like no tomorrow
Especially US dramas (actually I don't think i even watch any other kind)
I used to only watch Vampire diaries, Gossip girl, glee, how i met your mother, white collar and house but right now i even have time to watch other awesome dramas like fringe, big bang theory....
Who cares about tv when you can watch these things on the computer ;)

Having said so much, I realise everything just boils down to TIME.
Other than the fact that life in sg is hectic, I guess I do have myself to blame for the lack of time if I had better time management i probably could have done more of these things back then.
I shall make it a point to sustain some of these hobbies when I get home.
