To fulfill the dreams of the 3fanboys (Finian, Alex and YX) who went UK with me, we made a trip to Manchester, the football city. The whole city is torn between supporters of two rivalry clubs, Manchester United and Manchester City, nobody is to remain neutral.
Honestly, I feel that Manchester is all about soccer, there isn't that much there..... or maybe because I didn't really have much time to spare at the city, I only saw the Old Trafford and the city centre.

| Pretty street art near my hostel |
| Check out the really old school lift at my hostel! |
| The buildings in manchester are mostly in colonial style, nothing special |
| OMG PRIMARK!!!! MY FAVOURITE STORE BECAUSE IT'S SO CHEAP HAHAHAHAH |
| Having been deprived of good chinese food, we headed to the famous DimSum in Chinatown! I must say, Manchester has a pretty well decorated chinatown |
| OM NOM NOM DIMSUM!!! That is just 10% of what we ate! It was pretty cheap and good, considering that it's a restaurant opened by hk people in UK. |
| The cheerful red scene that greeted us when we alighted from the bus |
| Road side stalls sell MAN U merchandise but buy at your own risk :X |
| This uncle is damn cute and funny, he's super friendly and is very helpful too! I had to get a scarf for my dad cos he's like an avid fan of Man U since like forever, but I really didn't know which one would really suit him so this uncle asked how old my dad is and reckoned that people born in that era would love a certain traditional design. |
| THE OLD TRAFFORD and Sir Alex! |
| I'm here for my first ever live soccer match!!! It was Man U vs Fulham! |
| The fanboys!! |
| ESE PEEPS :D Yeah, that's the scarf i got for my dad and I acted as a fan that day, glorifying the scarf by witnessing a man u victory ;) [photo courtesy of IV's camera] |
| This cafe next to the stadium serve the MOST OILY FISH AND CHIPS that I have ever had in my entire life!! It was practically soaked in oil!!! ZOMG. Could barely devour half :S |
| Because police cars are too mainstream |
| Before the match the red devil has to entertain the enthusiastic crowd! |
| A SEA OF RED!! |
| I think this was some warm up! |
| Thank you Justin for helping me get the discounted tickets |
| Maintenance for the field and the red devil just has to be the star |
| I was seated at one of the far ends so I was only able to see action for half the time :/ (goes to show how badly trashed Fulham was) |
| The march in!! |
| Just a fan with an iphone |
| Justin's friend bought a copy of the United review for that day's match! Honestly, my knowledge of the players is only limited to Rooney, Giggs, Park ji sung, valencia........ hahahaha But later on I realise there were a pair of twins in the team as well. |
| THE MATCH WAS OMG SUPER EXCITING!!! The atmosphere was just so intense and the fans never stop chanting!! I swear in that instant I fell in love with soccer HAHAHAHAH It just was different, nothing like watching it on cable at home. |
| Throw in |
| After an exhilarating match, it ended with 4-0 to a Man U victory ;) |
| The greatest loss of all time |
| Happy fans heading home after the game |
| We tried to hang around the back door to see if the players would leave and we would have a chance to let them autograph something..... but to no avail :( |
Manchester, the football city, is where you should go to watch a live match even if you aren't a fan because their stadium (old trafford, don't know about the man city stadium) is so pretty and trust me, live matches are 9839587242times the excitement, and who knows, you might just find a new passion ;)
