Okay kids, did I tell you the story about the time I did planking for the first time with your auntie Ivie.....
In the winter of 2011/2012, the second stop of my Sweden trip was to a small town slightly north of Stockholm known as Uppsala..............
(hehehe doesn't that sound like Ted in HIMYM)

The day before, I set off from my little city up north of Finland, and patiently waited for the bus to take me to the airport.
At the bus stop opposite my house, I saw one of the prettiest patterns made by nature :)

SNOWFLAKES REALLY LOOK LIKE THIS IN REAL LIFE :D apparently the shape and size differs according to the humidity and temperature but the rough outline is still pretty much what you see in cartoons

All the state crest of the cities in Finland! (3rd row, 4th column is Oulu's)

After a few hours I arrived at Stockholm Arlanda airport and bought a train ticket to Uppsala to meet the rest of the Finnish SEP gang, Finian, Nigel, Clarence, Alex, YX, FZ, YI, XC, ZR and IV.

They brought me to a CHINESE BUFFET RESTAURANT HAHA. It was the first chinese restaurant that I went to in Europe. The food was kinda typical of a chinese restaurant in europe.

I think we were waiting for Finian, who was *cough* late again :P

Together with Qinlin, we set off to the outskirts of Uppsala known as Gamla Uppsala. I think Gamla means Old or smth

Well, we alighted one or two stops later than we should have and had to walk back but the scenery was  pretty! :)

Photoception

Like small kids seeing a train for the first time, we were all very exciting to see the Swedish train and were busy snapping away LOLLLL

YX and YI, awww so happy! (because i forced them to smile HAHAHA)

I have always thought that kids look really cute in their clumsy fat suits, i mean, winter jackets :P

OH LOOK, TRAIN TRACK!

And we did planking for the first time HAHAH

This was the smile before we realise that we were probably lying on dried/frozen pee and shit from the trains :S

hahahahah i think i still refused to get up (photo courtesy of IV's camera)

FINALLY. awwww we still were so happy HAHAHA (photo courtesy of IV's camera)

we then made our way to the gamla uppsala museum

Viking ship?

only to realise that it was closed during winter :(((( the downside about traveling during winter is that a lot of things won't be opened if they are held outdoors

Not to be disheartened, the great outdoors seem pretty picturesque

pale blue skies, cotton candy clouds, snow clad hills and boundless white plains....... don't you secretly wish to get lost among them?

the beauty lies in how untouched this place is

oh, the cafe wasn't opened either, it was like a ghost town HAHA

because a jumpshot is necessary in every city (photo courtesy of IV)

QL and the guys!

:)
After wondering around the town a little, we reached their local church.

it's a rather simple church, nothing fancy

But these clocks caught my eye.......

hmmmmmmm seize the day?

Cemetery at the back of the church

The snow clad plains look so untouched that fresh fallen snow still lies unscathed on the wooden fence

LONG LEGS!!!

Look at the sophisticated artwork by mother nature! (somehow this looks like a cactus LOL)

A really scenic and peaceful place right? (photo courtesy of IV)

IT'S A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE.............NO IT'S A..........................

awwww we finally met a local with her cute doggie... BUT DOGGIE Y U NO LOOK AT ME? :(

miles and miles of purity beneath the warm sunshine

Happy faces!

YI the bus conductor

We left Gamla Uppsala and headed back to Uppsala city :)
I miss looking at these snow covered roofs

totally random but i think i dropped my starbucks tumblr here and it cracked because it was too cold :(

What is a meal without coffee

We had lunch at a cafe ;) It was pretty decent for the price!

After lunch we went to explore the hogwarts like university hall of Uppsala university!

I would love to study in a school like this everyday

even the coat racks are so cool

Check out the LTs

looks advanced!

Looking at you through the glass, don't know how much time has passed......

This is the bigger church in the city of Uppsala itself

SUPER REALISTIC RIGHT? I got a shock when i turned my back to see her staring at me

Just chillin'

Time for HIGH TEA!! ;) QL brought us to a cafe that was recommended by her friends.
This swedish pastry looks a lot like the pulla that the Finns have, jam and fresh cream filled!

This was just meringue topped with cream and nuts, kinda too sweet for my liking

The typical cinnamon roll ;) Somehow people in this region really love their cinnamon rolls!

THE PRINCESS CAKE!! Sponge cake layered with berry jam and cream, wrapped with green fondant (you can find this in ikea too)

I think this was also a combination of fresh cream and meringue
Verdict: The pastries were a tad disappointing for me, kinda not my kinda pastries because they were all either filled with fresh cream or very sweet :S

ending it with my favourite picture * narcissistic* HAHAHAHA (photo courtesy of IV)

Having said so much, I guess the question on your mind is whether one should visit Uppsala?
Honestly, Uppsala is just a small town, pretty much a university town.........there's nothing much to it, one can choose to skip it HAHAHA
well, unless you're visiting a friend then that's a different story.
